Polystyrene (PS) is a frangible polymer, composed of styrene monomers.

Polystyrene (PS) is classified into: 

• Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), 
• General Purpose Polystyrene (GPPS), 
• High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS).

General Purpose Polystyrene (GPPS) is a clear thermoplastic resin, while the High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) is matte.
